Meet The Team: Laura Douglas, CEO – Turner Group

Would you share a happy/fun memory from your childhood?

Traveling to Europe as a child. My father was a minister and put together trips every summer with church members.

This experience really humbled me at the wonder and filled me with gratitude for living in the United States.

What gives your work life meaning?

Helping people without motive

What gives your personal life meaning?

Helping people without motive

Favorite city/place in the world and why?

It depends on what I am looking for, but I love New York for the energy, Lisbon for the people and the food, Paris for the baguettes and Bruges for the charm.

Name one thing you are good at and would be your best piece of advice to someone in this regard?

I am good at giving. It makes my heart sing. I have learned that I will never miss the $5 that I give to someone in need, the meal I buy for someone that is hungry or the day I spend volunteering.

What are your favorites hobbies?

Is work a hobby? I think I need a hobby. Suggestions?

Where is your dream vacation destination?

Anywhere with my husband.

Where was your favorite vacation?

The Sepro trip through France with the sales team and our families.

What is your favorite Turner Group moment?

There are so many, but any time we are together as a team with our families feels like an old-fashioned family reunion. We ride bikes, segways, kayaks, golf carts and boats. We play games, golf, swim and travel. Most importantly, we talk, connect and laugh.

What does company culture mean to you?

Trust and transparency. Having brave conversations during our team huddles and opening up with one another.

Sharing a passion with a group of people you love makes work fun.

What would it be if you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life?

Baguettes from Paris

What is one of your work rule?

Everyone in this industry deserves to make a living, even our competitors.
