Scientific Molding without optimized cooling is not SO scientific!

The cooling time in the injection molding process can represent as much as 80% of the cycle time, yet it’s often underestimated or even overlooked.

If you want to have a solid and beneficial understanding of scientific cooling, help is on hand

Smartflow offers Scientific Cooling classes to help you achieve a more robust mold design, mold build, and molding processes. Designers, mold builders, tooling engineers, and mold technicians can reach new levels of efficiency in-mold cooling management by participating in a SMARTFLOW® Scientific CoolingSM Class

Participants will learn the tools needed to analyze Heat Energy and the Mold Cooling Management required to produce consistent, profitable parts. They will also learn to systematically challenge the design of new molds and uncover issues with existing molds through the development of best practices for Mold Cooling Management.

Due to the growing interest in Scientific Cooling, we have scheduled a class in the Denver area (Longmont, CO specifically) for October 5-6.

The price of this comprehensive two-day course is $1,195

Content includes:

  • How heat energy moves through the injection molding process
  • How to apply and perform heat transfer calculations specific to injection molding
  • How to determine the amount of coolant flow needed for a stable process
  • Reynolds Number’s relationship to Turbulent Flow
  • How mold and polymer material choices affect heat energy flow
  • Impediments to effective cooling

You are welcome to bring details of your cooling challenges for group discussion and analysis as time permits. Details such as coolant flow rate, cooling circuit diameter and length may be analyzed in class.

Don’t underestimate the importance of mold cold cooling on your process and your profit margin!

To register, please complete the attached form and email it to Scott@turnergroup.net

Seats are limited. Please register early; the deadline to sign up is September 17th

We will also be having Scientific Cooling classes in other Westcoast locations.

For more information, don’t hesitate to contact Laura Douglas at laura@turnergroup.net or John Ward at john@turnergroup.net.

We consider participant safety of the highest importance, and COVID-19 precautions will be necessary for this class. Participants will need to provide proof of full vaccination (final shot at least 2 weeks before the class date) or a negative COVID test within 72 hours of class start. We request that all precautions be taken to help the safety of the other attendees and instructors, including wearing masks when not eating or drinking.
