Meet Corey Brown, President of Burger & Brown Engineering, Inc.
Corey began his career in the plastics industry as a project engineer working on the Burger and Brown proprietary SMARTFLOW Product Line.
He grew up in the Kansas City Metro Area and received his Bachelors in Engineering from Kansas State University and his MBA from the University of Kansas.
Corey has a wonderful wife and three boys that keep them busy outside of work in addition to one very energetic border collie.
Would you share a happy/fun memory from your childhood?
I always enjoyed family ski trips as well as time on the lake with family in the summer
What gives your work life meaning?
I enjoy helping solve problems as well as helping others grow, both within our organization and our customers
What gives your personal life meaning?
Having fun with my family and they joy they bring
Favorite city/place in the world and why?
The Mountains. Any day on the slopes skiing is a great day
Name one thing you are good at and would be your best piece of advice to someone in this regard?
I enjoy problem solving and helping others. A good piece of advice I can give is “Expect Nothing, Accept Everything”
What are your favorite hobbies?
Anything outdoors (golf, skiing, lake, hiking,) and working on things
Where is your dream vacation destination?
Heli-Skiing in either British Columbia or Alaska and a trip to Thailand
Where was your favorite vacation?
Favorite vacation so far would have been our trip to Gulf Shores with our family this year. I enjoyed watching our boys experience the ocean and play in the sand
What is your favorite Turner moment?
Too many to mention and some not so PC, but I’ve enjoyed watching the team grow and evolve and embrace our product line
What does company culture mean to you?
Company Culture is critical in any organization. Culture drives enjoyment and productivity
If you could only eat one type of food the rest of your life, what would it be?
Street Tacos, specifically al pastor from some small taco stand in Mexico
What is one of your unwritten rules for work?
Quality and Customer Service drive everything. These are main focuses
